Where to get started with crystals

I often get asked where do I get my crystals from, or how to get started with collecting them. I go by what I am attracted to, what draws me to the crystal. Then once I have the crystal I look up its property and what is special about that particular crystal. I use the Crystal encyclopedia by Judy Hall that has a hundred of crystal organized by color. So even if you don't know the name of the crystal you can just look in that color category to find it.

Where do I get my crystals?

There are so many different crystal companies out there, but I can give you a list of some that I have worked with and can vouch for quality.

Mindful Eating: The Yogi Meal

Have you had a "yogi meal"? This way of eating is approached in the same mindfulness as you would approach your practice.     •Find a quiet space where you won't have any distractions. •No talking while chewing. •Be grateful, take time to pray. •One bite at a time, putting your fork down in between bites. •Eat fresh plant based foods that feel good going into your body.     I have not always fully understood the concept of being plant based. But now  I comprehend and understand firsthand how you need to treat the inside of your body with as much love as the outside. @purplecarrotxo has opened up my tastebuds to how yummy vegan dishes can be. They send you fresh, vegan ingredients straight to your front door. Everything is portioned out, and comes with directions to make cooking a breeze. Tonight I made potato bisque with a watercress salad, and a french baguette topped with a sunflower pate. I cant wait for my next meal. Use code: YOGI30 for $30 off

faq's

Please add new questions to the comments section and I will add them to the list.

Q:I am a newbie! where do I start?

A:I always recommend going to a yoga class. Find some groupons and try out a few studios and different teachers. A lot of studios offer a discount for new students or even free/community classes once a week. I suggest trying to go at least 2-3 times a week to start. At first it may be rough, but all good things come with a challenge. Your body will thank you.

Q: But I'm not that comfortable with my body... will people look at me in class?

A: Yoga is about your own unique practice and everybody/ BODY is on their own journey. Don't worry about thoughts of judgement. Just wear what you feel most comfortable in and give it a try. I guarantee you will be surprised.

Q: What if I'm not flexible? Can I still do yoga?

A: You do not need to be flexible to do yoga, however I promise that if you trust the journey you will gain some in your own personal growth. I was never athletic or a dancer before I started yoga, it was gained through my practice.

Q: What if I go to a class and can't do the postures right or at all?

A: First you will have to try out different studios to find the perfect fit for you. Once you find that studio, you will discover that the teacher will offer variation to the postures and assist you in proper alignment no matter what level you are on.

Q: What diet are you on?

A: I am not on any sort of specific diet. however I prefer to call it "eating mindfully".  In general I do not consume dairy because my body does not respond to it well. I substitute milk for almond milk. I am mostly plant based. I try my best to eat as clean and organic as possible. I love my fruits, veggies, juices, and smoothies. I do truly love food and enjoy the taste. If I choose to treat myself I prefer not to waste it on something like a bagel left in the teachers lounge, or a cheap cupcake. For example, I don't even like bagels, or ever get them on my own, so why would I eat it just because its sitting on the table... when in fact I really don't need it nor truly want it. I make it worth it for something I truly love that is made with love, perhaps from my favorite restaurant, bakery, made by myself or friend/family member. I do not eat garbage. What is the point of eating something that I will regret later, that I feel sinking to the bottom of my belly?

Q: How do you keep your body in shape? do you solely do yoga?

A: Yes, I only do yoga. years ago I did have a personal trainer and did some weight training. My body responded very well to weight training, however I just did not enjoy working out that way. Yoga is the perfect fit for me and I practice every day... whether it is for 20 minutes or 2 hours.

Q: How do I get my body to be like yours?

A: ummmm...you can't! My body is unique to me as yours is to you! Love your body as is, but always strive for personal growth.
